CRICT has documented expertise in the development, application, and optimization of engineered formulations of matrices and surface coatings, which it has been working on for some time with scientific contributions aimed at evaluating the effect of such strategies on material performance, especially mechanical. CRICT also conducts research in the field of structural materials, recycled materials from various sectors (ceramics, mechanics, agri-food, construction) with the goal of reusing them in building products, and on microplastics, studying their degradation even under UV rays. The expertise ranges from materials engineering to structural engineering, from chemistry to surface physics.
For the specific needs of the project, CRICT has documented expertise and equipment for the surface treatment of reinforcing materials (e.g., fibers) and compositional modification (e.g., of matrices). In CASA, it will work on improving durability, mechanical performance, and optimizing mixtures to partially compensate for the performance loss caused by the introduction of waste. CRICT will also perform leaching, stability, health, and mechanical performance tests on sample batches to optimize formulations and coatings.
